Foster
Submitting a foster application does not mean you’re signing your life away, nor does it guarantee you’ll be selected to foster. It simply helps us figure out if your home and lifestyle are the purr-fect match for one of our undercover operatives (a.k.a. cats in need of foster care). We also use it to decide which animal — and which personality — will blend seamlessly into your home’s vibe.
As part of our highly confidential application process, we’ll be calling your personal references and your vet, plus conducting a home visit. (Yes, we’ll need the correct contact info — our agents are good, but they can’t guess phone numbers.) We also run a quick background check — nothing too scary, just part of keeping our furry friends safe.
If you have your heart set on a specific animal, please let us know when submitting your application. This will help us process things faster if you’re a good match for that particular cat. If you’re just generally interested in fostering someday, keep your eyes peeled — and let us know if you spot an agent you’d like to recruit. Not hearing from us right away doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve been rejected; sometimes we simply have to prioritize urgent placements, and our volunteer squad can’t process every application instantly.
One last thing: all Straygency agents are strictly indoor operatives. No unsupervised outdoor missions allowed.
